What is truth?

Let me ask you a question, do you believe what you here, what you see? Do you take information for being truth most of the time? Or, do you constantly disregard what you see as being bogus, and require some sort of professional proof before believing what you see or hear? One of the biggest mistakes people make is believing too easily, or disregarding too easily, the truth.

How do you know what is the truth?

Unfortunately, you can never know anything 100 percent, you can only make reasonable judgments based on your experiences and what you know. The issue here is when people start to forget what they know, or disregard what is obvious, to try and believe someone, or something before knowing more information. Statistical studies have shown that people believe people who are attractive, assertive, and speak with confidence more so than someone who doesn’t have these qualities regardless of who is right or wrong. It is hard to disregard someone we want to believe in, but to understand the truth we have to be unbiased and look at the facts of the information we are receiving.

Do people you know lie to you on a regular basis without you knowing?

Have you had friends tell you things only to find out they were flat our wrong or misleading? Have you been told things by your boss that was a flat out lie? Or maybe you have told things to other people that was a total lie. You might ask, why tell a lie, why be honest? The answer to this question is very simple. It comes down to consistency. Being consistent will really help you out in your life. People will believe in your credibility more, people will question you less. Consistency is always going to be better than the alternative (lies and dishonesty). Being honest doesn’t mean being a pushover, but their is real, identifiable value in having a trustworthy character.

Honesty and Truth, the Summary

If you are sitting here thinking to yourself how dishonest you have been, and how bad you are or something like this, don’t do this. This article isn’t about right or wrong, it is about logical facts regarding your personal behavior. Be honest, trustworthy, and consistent, and people are going to have a strong tendency to believe you more, to trust you more, and to confide in you more. This can lead to better business opportunities and dealings, better interaction with your family and friends, and overall, more success.
